Umm… I just had a comment on my other blog by someone who wasn’t so appreciative. He expressed disappointment that I wouldn’t ‘fess up as to whether my stories were real or fantasy. Then he closed with “As far as the ass fucking I could tell the minute I knew you were bound on the bed face up… You didn’t need Western Union to get the message out.”
I guess in the future I should just post the outline and not worry about the rest of the story. :-\

Meh … some people are never happy. Ignore the bastage.
Congrats! And like Cat said … remember the rest of us when you’re living the big life. 😉

Oh I checked the haters site and as suspected he didn’t have any entries fact or fiction. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised it is always the people who don’t have anything to critque who are the toughest critics.

Yeah, I noticed that, too, although quite a few people have accounts with no blogs so they can post comments elsewhere.
And elsewhere I ran into someone who after a cursory reading and clicking some links said “That convinced me that tom has some sort of odd obsession with sex…”
Ahem.
I replied that he might be unclear on the concept. Like the previous commenter I mentioned, he has this idea that blogs should reflect reality, or at least, be upfront with the reader that the posting is a fantasy.
But that really does raise a good discussion point. My Friday series is written simply to be amusing and entertaining. Should I – or anyone else – specifically warn the reader that an article is fact, fiction, or an elaboration? Are some readers put off by the mixture of fact and fantasy?
I tend to read blogs with the “willing suspension of disbelief,” or pretty much the same mindset that I take when watching a sci-fi movie. Yes, I’m sure that some people are writing true-life stories and some are not, but when I’m reading for entertainment I don’t make that distinction. Am I approaching it wrong?

tom, i also read with a grain of salt…most times. i tend to write about real experiences…not as good at the made up stuff. Although i have one in there that is pure fiction…and another someone else wrote for me. i liked the last FF, even if i saw the ending coming. Keep on writting…

Something for the humble love writers to aspire to.. 🙂

The stuff I write about is stuff that we did, more or less the way I remember it. Sometimes Mrs. Crash has commented that she doesn’t remember it the way I do, but that’s not too unusual … we can see the same movie and remember it differently.
The times I’ve tried to write about fantasies, the writing has come out looking like something out of Penthouse. 😛

You are all too much! Frankly, I’m just dabbling in all this. There are some very excellent – and prolific – writers out there that have been turning out smokin’ hawt erotica for a lot longer than I have. A lot of the new WordPress additions to my blogroll are fantastic and well-written blogs, some real, some not, but all of them very good reads.
Hell, after reading them I can see that what I’m writing isn’t really even erotica, it’s more… I don’t know, something else. Or certainly not as wet-drippingly intense.
