Oxford, Harvard, what’s the difference?

Not specifically a trope, but an interesting Tumblr phenomenon. Here’s a captioned picture, apparently written by somebody who’s interested in chastity.
Looks like he took the time to write his name in big letters at the bottom so you can’t miss it....

Here’s a captioned picture, apparently written by somebody who’s interested in chastity. More than he’s interested in, say, Oxford commas, or indeed, any other commas.

Looks like he took the time to write his name in big letters at the bottom so you can’t miss who captioned it. What you might miss, however, is that the picture originally came from Playboy Magazine, as evidenced by the “Miss December” in the upper left hand corner.

Ah, Tumblr. Nowhere else are people more interested in the fabricated, misspelled, poorly-worded, grammatically incorrect captions than they are about the actual, you know, photograph.

I think that I’m going to put a chastity caption on a shot of the Mona Lisa, and then put my blog watermark all over it. You know, just so nobody copies it.

About Tom Allen

The Grey Geezer Dauntless defender of, um, something that needed dauntless defending. Dammit, I can't read this script without my glasses. Hey, you kids, get off my damn lawn!

One Response to Oxford, Harvard, what’s the difference?

  1. The Mona Lisa clearly has that sly smile because she’s thinking about how frustrated her play partner must be, what with his continually caged status
