Kinky is the new normal – sort of.

Salon, which sometimes looks to be in danger of becoming the next Newsweek, actually has an interesting article on sex perverts kinky people which doesn’t manage to paint us as bizarre or twisted, while also tactfully acknowledging that, yes, there are some sociopaths in the community. Sexual Deviancy is Normal is pretty detailed, and focuses on the psychological aspects of BDSM.

Did you go read it? Did you happen to notice that the headline of the article was all “Yup, it’s normal to be kinky,” but as you’re reading the article, it’s all “Here’s some cannibalism, and let’s throw in some non-consensual stuff while we’re at it.”

And did I say “which doesn’t manage to paint us as bizarre or twisted”? Sorry, I meant: they put all the titillating stories about gruesome non-con acts right in the first few paragraphs; by the time your grandmother gets halfway into the article, she’s probably not going to be in the mood to complement you on your new collar.

The article is a partial review of a new book Perv: The Sexual Deviant in All of Us, which does its best to approach the subject with sensitivity by… wait for it:  putting a sheep on the front cover of the book.

A sheep with a cute little ass, I might add.

For something a little less rage inducing, here’s something to keep your mind occupied for a bit.

How many fetishes can you find in this picture? I counted at least 12, but I keep daydreaming…

About Tom Allen

The Grey Geezer Dauntless defender of, um, something that needed dauntless defending. Dammit, I can't read this script without my glasses. Hey, you kids, get off my damn lawn!
